The snake and the toad once had a bet as to whom the humans love most. The snake said that the humans never love them the animals that live in the bushes.
The toad told the snake that he lied because the humans love him more than the snake. He said that the humans hate the snake due to its wickedness.
The snake said that the humans are afraid of him because he doesn't joke with fools.
The toad defended the humans by saying that the humans are hospitable creatures.
The snake became angry with the toad and he chased after him to eat him up. The toad who is not a fast runner knew that if he should face the bush path, the snake will surely get him and so he ran towards the village.
Now the elders in council were holding their monthly meeting when the toad jumped into their midst and hid himself under one of the chairs. As they were still wondering what may have forced down the toad to have embarked on such a fierce race that hot afternoon, the snake appeared with his long tongue stuck out.
They all stood up with their walking sticks on seeing the snake. Within two minutes, they have hit the snake to death with their walking sticks.
When the meeting was over, the toad jumped out and saw the mutilated body of the snake lying on the floor.
And he said to it, "Beast of no gender. Didn't l tell you that the humans love me more than you?
Imagine the way they killed you like a worse enemy.
I wish you can come and see your body, you won't recognize it. Fool! Rest in pieces till they will use your body for meal".
THIS TEACHES US THAT WE MAKE ENEMIES BY OUR EVIL WAYS! NEVER CHEAT YOUR PARTNER IN BUSINESS!
IT LEADS TO UNTIMELY DEATH.
