Doctor Dominic as he was widely known has been on the Market of drugs for years.
He claimed to be a medical doctor and that was what everyone believed. Nobody ever care to ask him to back up his claims with a proof.
Since he lived amongst his people, they were comfortable with whatever he says or does.
He has a big local patient medicine store where he sells all types of drugs. He was well known far and wide as an excellent medical doctor.
His area of specialization was abortion.
He was very good in carrying out abortions on both teenage girls as well as matured women who want to get rid of any unwanted pregnancy.
Due to the high level of poverty on that part of the world, prostitution became the females' means of livelihood.
Parents even send out their teenage daughters to indulge in prostitution for them to have money to feed.
Some housewives also secretly indulge in prostitution.
Doctor Dominic however became very popular and useful as he was always there for any female who wants to abort her pregnancy.
He has different methods of carrying out an abortion as to minimize pains and bleeding.
He was nick-named "King of abortion".
But something happened to him one morning that put everybody into fear.

Then came the district's festival. This festival usually comes up once in four years and it lasts for a month.
It is called 'lromrege' which means 'Taboo has travelled'.
Yes, taboo has travelled so they can do all those things which are taboo without fear since they are not bonded by the ancestors' wrath.
In this festival sex is free! Any man can sleep with any female provided she is up to the required age of fifteen years. Adultery is usually the order of the day.
Since it is celebrated every four years, the males usually get ready for it. But like an adage says that, "Before you eat and drink to stupor, first make sure that there is a toilet nearby".
And so with a free sex festival, it is obvious that the harvest of pregnancies would automatically follow.
And so after this festival, scores of pregnancies are recorded. But that is no problem for them. 'The doctor of abortion' is always ready for the task!
He gains more popularity at this time. Within a month or so, all the unwanted pregnancies are gone! Kudos to doctor Dominic.
As far he is readily available, adultery and formication should be legalized.
But like an adage says, 'The secret affairs of the housewife would one day leads to the murder of the he goat'.
The living can easily be gaged or subdued but definitely not the dead! And so one morning, the famous doctor Dominic the abortion guru was seen running helter skelter from one place to another shouting for help.
Loud sounds of whips could be heard lashing on his body.
He ran towards the Riverside and a crowd followed him.
"What is the problem? How can we help you?
Who is after you?" These and more were some of the questions the people asked him as they ran after him trying to help him if possible.

Suddenly, he stopped running; he knelt down on the middle of the road pleading for pardon.The crowd could hear him clearly saying that he should be forgiven for he knew that he had sinned. He seemed to be pleading to a group of people to have mercy on him. But none of the people there could see those whom he was talking to.
The whipping started once more and he fled backward.
He ran to the local police station in the town and the crowd again followed him.
He was shouting and crying for help as he ran. The people began to ask him what the problem was. Again, he could not answer them. Even the policemen at the station fled for safety on seeing him running towards the station with a crowd behind him.
And he fell to the floor at the front of the police station. He called to the police not to run away but to help him. 'Look at them here around me. Please, arrest them", he pleaded to the fleeing policemen.
The whips began to lash at his body till all his clothes became torn with blood gushing out of his wounds.
At once the people's eyes were opened. They saw a crowd of little babies, all holding whips, lashing at him.
The words of the babies became cleared to the hearing and understanding of the people.
They were saying as they whipped him, "Since you have prevented us from coming to life, you will not live either".

You killed us cruelly thereby denying us our right to life. You will also be denied of your own life. We will not leave you not until you are dead". The crowd fled when they heard these words. Many people suspected the voices to be that of the babies he may have aborted and so they begged for pardon on his behalf.
But all in vain! Two hours later, he died on his kneeling position.
Blood gushed out of the marks of the whips.
In no time, it was known that the babies whom he had aborted came to avenge their death in his hand.
The most bizarre thing about the death of Dr Dominic was that he died on his kneeling position. Hours later after his death, his corpse remained in that position.
Then the elders of the village held an emergency meeting in the chief's compound to decide on what to do next.
They all agreed that the oracle be consulted to know what actually killed him and what to do with the corpse.
The oracle revealed that the babies he aborted killed him and they also insisted that his corpse must not be buried in the village but to be thrown into the river for fish to devour it.
They did exactly what the oracle said so that they won't incur the wrath of the dead. The oracle also revealed that all his properties except his children and his wife be burnt.
This story teaches us that we should always watch all that we do especially when it concerns life.
We should never take someone's life unjustly.
