This happened during the Nigeria civil war.
There was this widower whom a strayed bullet killed his wife who was a nursing mother. They had a little baby girl aged seven months.
The father was left all alone to take care of the baby. Then, all routes going in and out of many towns were either blocked with explosive mines or fierce looking killer armies who knew no mercy. People risked their life going out to get food. Hundreds went to sought for food and drugs but never returned!
Now, this widower was named, Innocent and his surname, Let Me Go. He hailed from a town called Thank You.
Now, the situation with him became dire! And he took the risk of his life to go out to look for food for himself and the baby who was almost starving to death.
He left the little baby who had cried through out the night for food. Innocent knew that if he was caught by the armies, he would be killed and if he doesn't go out, he could stay for days before at least his death but the baby can no longer stay for another day.
With this thought in his mind, he ventured out. He tried as much as possible to avoid the armies to be alive.
But the eagle eyes of the enemy armies caught him.
They asked him to lie down.
From the ground, the armies said to him, "Mr man, as you can see on the ground. They are the corpses of your people and in minutes from now, yours will be among them. But if your name is a good one, then you may go; but if your name is a provocative one, then be sure. You will be history.
ARMIES: What is your name?
MAN: Innocent.
ARMIES: Your surname.
MAN: Let Me Go.
ARMIES: Your town.
MAN: Thank You.
ARMIES: You can go.
And he went to buy food and drugs with the help of the armies and went home safely.
