A pastor was conducting a special Thanksgiving one Sunday morning. The church was filled to its capacity. After the main offerings, the big box of the offering was filled with money. The pastor was overwhelmed with the offerings!
He began to dance as the choristers rendered some melodious tune. But the tune soon changed as the choristers began some hot disco songs and beatings.
At this stage, the pastor became overjoyed! He began to jump up and down. Other members immediately joined. It became a free for all worldly scene!
A certain elder in the church stood up and cautioned the pastor on what he terms as immoral dance.
The pastor then said to him, "brethren, may the devil get behind you! Haven't you red in the Bible, what king David did when the Israelites were victorious over their enemies? King David became joyous and he began to dance happily by jumping up and down just as the happy members and I are doing now.
His wife, the daughter of Saul, cautioned him just as you did now and God became angry with her and she was punished with barrenness. So be careful brethren".
And the elders said to him, "yes pastor, l agreed with you that David's wife was punished for rebuking David but we should not quote any part of the Bible to support our evils. In that of David, he never jumped up and rubbed his buttocks against that of the women.
The men and the women never danced facing one another so closely and the women never jumped up and down with their breasts dangling and leaping up and down without brassier. King David never got so closely to the women like you have done. The Israelites men never got so closely to the females with the front of their trousers bulging out"
