BEST POISON FOR THE STUBBORN RAT

There was this syndicate who specializes in house racketeering. They would put a signboard of "ROOM TO LET" outside a vacant room. whenever, a person comes to rent the house, one of them would come out and say that the house belongs to their late father or mother. He would tell you that the rooms were shared amongst them and that is his own.

He would tell you that he stays outside the state and his coming is to let the room out and go back.
He would tell you that, the monthly rent is five thousand naira and you should pay for two years because his next coming back would be in two years time and agent fee twenty thousand naira and landlord's fee, twenty thousand naira totalling one hundred and sixty thousand naira.

But he would tell you that he won't take both agent and landlord's fees. Only the two years rent of one hundred and twenty thousand naira.

When you have paid, he would give you receipt and ask you to lock it with a padlock before you go.

The next time, you come there, you would see the room fully occupied. You would begin to wonder if you are on the right place. If you are the type that is very clever who doesn't forgets a place in a hurry, you would ask the occupants.

The next thing you would hear is, "neighbours, wonder shall never ends! Come and hear what this man or woman is saying. That he paid for this room yesterday which I have been staying for the past twenty years".

The people would say, " Oga or Madam, I beg, go look for where you for hire house nor be here".

Behold! My dear you have been scammed.

One day, they did it to a certain man. This man was a witchdoctor. When he saw that he had been duped, he remotes the person who took the money from him in such a way that any money that he touches with his hand would disappears and reappears in this witchdoctor room. Within a year, not less than two million naira had disappeared from the scammer and reappeared in the witch doctor's room.

Another seer told the guy the root of his problems. He took some personalities and they went to scout for the witchdoctor. The witchdoctor asked them to pay the sum of four hundred thousand naira or something worse may happened to him. They paid without delay and from that day, they stopped the racketeering.
