"MR THIEF, HOW FAR NOW?"

            JOKE JOKER JOKEY JOKES.

                           Ha! Ha! Ha!!!

There is this woman. She has four standard aluminium ladders. They are adjustable. They can be adjusted to become longer or shorter depending on the height you want to climb. Her major customers are carpenters as well as electricians and electricity workers.

She hires each at the rate of N5000:00 per a day. But if half day or just a few hours, she would make it for either N2000:00 or N2500:00 as the case may be. But if you hire it for twenty four hours, it would be N10000:00.
The ladders are customized with trackers unknown to those hiring them.

One early morning, a young man came to hire one of the ladders for a full day. He said that he wanted to use it to climb an electricity pole off the street to effect some repairs. He paid the woman and carried it. He thought the woman would never recognise him and so he stole it.

That evening, he didn't return it. The next day also he didn't return it. The woman suspected a case of theft and so she decided to track it. She found that it was in a nearby city.
She left it for twenty one days.  Then she went to the police to make a report of theft. She hired a tricycle and four policemen followed her.

When they got to the city, she tracks it and its direction was indicated. They got there and saw the man using it to work. He was arrested. When they got to the police station, he pleaded that he should be allowed to settle it out of court because the woman said he would charge the case to court.

The woman told him that the ladder stayed in his possession for twenty one days. Twenty four hours cost N10000:00. So N10000:00 times twenty one days amounts to N200000:00. That is a normal circumstance; but since it is a case of theft, it will be N200000:00 times two= N400000:00. The money used for police and transportation amounts to N60000:00. Inconveniences his action caused her, N1000000:00. Total=N560000:00 Then he can settle police.

He was put in cell for twenty four hours and he made a call to his friends to sell his uncompleted building to raise the money. We learnt that he paid a total of one point three million naira to get off.

What a nice stealing!
