That you removed the ceilings, excavated the floor tiles and the water closet, the cisterns and the showers etc.
I put it to you that you vandalized the house thereby committing the crime of stealing.
Guilty or not guilty?
MR DENNIS: My Lord, l am not guilty at all, sir.
You see, my Lord. When l hired the three bedroom flats, three years ago, the landlord took the sum of two million naira from me as caution fee. The caution fee means that if l should damaged any thing in any of the rooms, l will forfeit the money for their replacement.
My lord, l even maintained the house more than l met it.
As l was about to pack out, l called the landlord to come and inspect the rooms. He came and saw everything and he was amazed because he could hardly recognized his flats and he commended me.
I then demanded for the refund of my two million naira, caution fee since l didn't destroy anything in the rooms.
But he said he can no longer give it back to me because according to him, the money has entered into voicemail.
Hence l removed those items to compensate for my money. I wished l could carry the three flats, l could have done that because the things l removed will not even cost up to two million naira or do you expect me to throw away a whooping two million naira to this hungry looking inheritance landlord that can't even buy a block?
THE JUDGE WAS DAZED!
