JOURNALIST: Your Excellency. As a past president, the panel of enquiry into the misconduct, misappropriation of funds and huge theft and looting of the nation's treasury has indicted you. What do you have to say?
HIS EXCELLENCY: Well, as the president at the time when all these abnormalities took place, l am fully responsible for my ineptitude and failure to do the needful. I am ready to face whatever punishment that may be given. I failed the people.
LOCAL
JOURNALIST: Your Excellency. As a past president, the panel of enquiry into the misconduct, misappropriation of funds and huge theft and looting of the nation's treasury has indicted you. What do you have to say?
HIS EXCELLENCY: Well, it is laughable to say that l the president stole or misappropriated the nation's funds.
How can l steal my own property? The nation's treasury belongs to me. I can use the nation's funds anyhow l want it. Those making these rhetorical allegations are jobless people. I didn't steal and l will never steal what is mine.
: FOREIGN
JOURNALIST: Your Excellency. As a former governor, there are insinuations in many quarters that you and your cronies totally looted the state's treasury. How truthful is this weighty allegations against you and your government?
HIS EXCELLENCY: Well, it is true. I have really mismanaged the economy. I can't really say how all these came about. But however they are right. I am ready to pay the price for my failure. I agreed to all the allegations levelled against me and my government.
LOCAL
JOURNALIST: Your Excellency: As a former governor, there are a lot of allegations against you and your government bothering on embezzlement of the state's money. What do you have to say about it?
HIS EXCELLENCY: These allegations are totally unfounded. They are the handiwork of my enemies and detractors. They can't prove it?
JOURNALIST: But Your Excellency, they have so far been able to established many facts showing that the allegations are true.
HIS EXCELLENCY: Thank God you said they have proven it amongst themselves. They are the ones proving it themselves and not me. I was the one who governed the state and l am telling you nothing of such. They were able to proved their own lies.
But their decision is not binding on me. I have told you that no money was either stolen or misappropriated.
Now, let's take it this way. For all the years, were they not safe from robbers and kidnappers? As the chief security officer of the state, l invested all these money on security.
Now that they are safe, they should thank God rather than whipping up hatred and sentiments.
FOREIGN
JOURNALIST: Sir, as a commander of the multinational forces, there have been national condemnation and criticism that your missiles and arsenals mistakenly killed the Innocent. Do you agreed that you err in the cause of your duty?
COMMANDER: Yes, you are right. There were some errors in the shelling of some areas by the troops.
However, as the commander, l take responsibility for any misdeed by my troops. I sincerely tender my apology to all those who were directly affected by the inaction of my personnel.
LOCAL
JOURNALIST: As the commander of the multinational forces, there have been a public outcry that your men, more than often, acted unprofessionally thereby leading to many innocent lost of lives. What do you have to say?
COMMANDER: Never! These are just social media propaganda against me and my men.
If really there were such killings, then it must be the handiwork of non state actors.
They could be militants or bandits or cattle rustlers.
Not my men. We are professionals.
